From a young age, my parents instilled in me a sense of compassion by involving my siblings and I in supporting the underprivileged in our community. During my school years, we volunteered at Mother Teresa's homes and assisted with various tasks like serving food and painting the furniture.
We would also organize regular newspaper collection drives to collect old newspapers from the residents in our locality, which we then sold, and donated the money to the homes and orphanages. This gave me a sense of joy and satisfaction. I was always thankful for what we had.
In Hong Kong, I have been assisting refugee families with essential daily needs. During the pandemic, the impact on education, especially for these underprivileged families, was evident. The only device the children had access to for online classes and schoolwork was their parents’ mobile phones, that they often shared with their other siblings as well. This lack of resources, which would further affect their education, prompted me to launch an initiative to address this issue.
In the process of doing this, I became aware of the UN – The 17 Goals

I have made it my mission to help less fortunate children and families with their education needs, through an environmentally-friendly initiative of donating upgraded pre-owned electronic devices to those in need. GWL ambassadors and I work closely with Rotary Clubs in various countries to collect secondhand laptops, desktops, and mobile phones (less than 7-8 years old) from individuals and multinationals all over Asia.
With the help of IT technicians in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam these devices are cleaned, upgraded and software is installed. They are personally delivered to the recipients (mainly schools and homes for underprivileged children), providing a meaningful and gratifying experience for all those involved.
